The Beatles-Please Please Me (1963)    Parlophone Records

1-I Saw Her Standing There (2:55)  2-Misery (1:50)  3-Anna (Go To Him) (2:57)  4-Chains (2:26)  5-Boys (2:27)  6-Ask Me Why (2:27)  7-Please Please Me (2:03)  8-Love Me Do (2:22)  9-P.S. I Love You (2:05)  10-Baby It's You (2:38)  11-Do You Want To Know A Secret (1:59)  12-A Taste Of Honey (2:05)  13-There's A Place (1:52)  14-Twist And Shout (2:33)

I love the Beatles, but this album SUCKS. There's a few good songs, namely the first and the last ones, but there's only one way to describe this album as a whole: awful. They had bigger and better things in store.

Favorite Tracks: I Saw Her Standing There, Twist And Shout

The Beatles-Help (1965)    Parlophone Records

1-Help (2:21) 2-The Night Before (2:36)  3-You've Got To Hide Your Love Away (2:11)  4-I Need You (2:31)  5-Another Girl (2:08)  6-You're Going To Lose That Girl (2:20)  7-Ticket To Ride (3:12)  8-Act Naturally (2:33)  9-It's Only Love (1:58)  10-You Like Me Too Much (2:38)  11-Tell Me What You See (2:39)  12-I've Just Seen A Face (2:07)  13-Yesterday (2:07)  14-Dizzy Miss Lizzy (2:54)

Ah, now THIS is an album I can get into. The movie was funny, and this soundtrack is damn good too. They were still in their "early" stages, but I think this was where they started to branch out and improve their songwriting. Lots of choice cuts here, one of my favorites being the Ringo Starr sung country song "Act Naturally" :)

Favorite Tracks: Help, The Night Before, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, I Need You, Ticket To Ride, Act Naturally, Yesterday

The Beatles-Rubber Soul (1965)    Parlophone Records

1-Drive My Car (2:30)  2-Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) (2:05)  3-You Won't See Me (3:22)  4-Nowhere Man (2:44)  5-Think For Yourself (2:19)  6-The Word (2:43)  7-Michelle (2:42)  8-What Goes On (2:50)  9-Girl (2:33)  10-I'm Looking Through You (2:27)  11-In My Life (2:28)  12-Wait (2:16)  13-If I Needed Someone (2:23)  14-Run For Your Life (2:18)

2nd great album in a row for the Fab Four! If you haven't heard at least half of these songs, you probably don't own a radio! Some great tunes here, from the upbeat "Drive My Car" to the philosophical "Nowhere Man" to the murderous "Run For Your Life"! Rubber Soul was the start of a streak where the Beatles could do no wrong.

Favorite Tracks: Drive My Car, Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown), Nowhere Man, Think For Yourself, Girl, In My LIfe, Run For Your Life

The Beatles-Revolver (1966)    Parlophone Records

1-Taxman (2:39)  2-Eleanor Rigby (2:07)  3-I'm Only Sleeping (3:01)  4-Love You To (3:01)  5-Here, There, And Everywhere (2:25)  6-Yellow Submarine (2:40)  7-She Said She Said (2:37)  8-Good Day Sunshine (2:09)  9-And Your Bird Can Sing (2:01)  10-For No One (2:01)  11-Doctor Robert (2:15)  12-I Want To Tell You (2:29)  13-Got To Get You Into My Life (2:30)  14-Tomorrow Never Knows (2:57)

Their hardest-rocking record by far! Lots of great tunes on here, like the stomping "Taxman", the depressing "Eleanor Rigby", and of course the sing-along anthem "Yellow Submarine"! There are a few tracks that really aren't very good, but they're not worth talking about. Overall, a great album and a great album cover.

Favorite Tracks: Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, Yellow Submarine, And Your Bird Can Sing, Doctor Robert

The Beatles-Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967)   Parlophone Records

1-Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (2:02) 2-With A Little Help From My Friends (2:44)  3-Lucy In The Sky With Dianonds (3:28)  4-Getting Better (2:47)  5-Fixing A Hole (2:36)  6-She's Leaving Home (3:35)  7-Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite (2:37)  8-Within You Without You (5:05)  9-When I'm Sixty-Four (2:37)  10-Lovely Rita (2:42)  11-Good Morning Good Morning (2:41)  12-Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) (1:18)  13-A Day In The Life (5:33)

What can you say about this album? Well.....it's just plain good! Sure, there are a few throwaway tracks like the stupid "Fixing A Hole", but the majority of it is genius. This record gets enough praise as it is, so I'm just going to say that I like it a lot.

Favorite Tracks: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, With A Little Help From My Friends, When I'm Sixty Four, A Day In The Life

The Beatles-Magical Mystery Tour (1967)   Capitol, Parlophone Records

1-Magical Mystery (2:51)  2-The Fool On The Hill (3:00)  3-Flying (2:17)  4-Blue Jay Way (3:56)  5-Your Mother Should Know (2:29)  6-I Am The Walrus (4:37)  7-Hello Goodbye (3:31)  8-Strawberry Fields Forever (4:10)  9-Penny Lane (3:03)  10-Baby You're A Rich Man (3:03)  11-All You Need Is Love (3:52)

Yes, yes, YES! This is without a doubt my favorite Beatles album! It's just so much fun! This is the album where they come off as not taking themselves too seriously and just having a good time. The movie was pretty bad, but who cares? I liked it. "Blue Jay Way" is probably my all-time-favorite Beatles song, and there really isn't a bad tune on the whole disc! A pretty much perfect album.

The Beatles-The Beatles (White Album) (1968)  Apple Records

Disc One: 1-Back In The USSR (2:40)  2-Dear Prudence (3:56)  3-Glass Onion (2:18)  4-Ob-la-di Ob-la-da (3:08)  5-Wild Honey Pie (0:52)  6-The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill (3:04)  7-While My Guitar Gently Weeps (4:45)  8-Happiness Is A Warm Gun (2:43)  9-Martha My Dear (2:28)  10-I'm So Tired (2:03)  11-Blackbird (2:18)  12-Piggies (2:04)  13-Rocky Raccoon (3:32)  14-Don't Pass Me By (3:50)  15-Why Don't We Do It In The Road (1:41) 16-I Will (1:46)  17-Julia (2:54)

Disc Two: 1-Birthday (2:42)  2-Yer Blues (4:01)  3-Mother Nature's Son (2:48)  4-Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey (2:24)  5-Sexy Sadie (3:15)  6-Helter Skelter (4:29)  7-Long Long Long (3:04)  8-Revolution 1 (4:15)  9-Honey Pie (2:41)  10-Savoy Truffle (2:54)  11-Cry Baby Cry (2:01)  12-Revolution 9 (8:22)  13-Good Night (3:11)

Their most expirimental release, containing a huge variety of styles and themes. You've got heavy metal ("Helter Skelter"), country ("Rocky Raccoon"), straight up blues-rock ("Revolution 1"), psychedelia ("While My Guitar Gently Weeps"), campy-British music hall ("Honey Pie"), and a bizarre collage of sounds in "Revolution 9". Being a double album, it of course has lots of great songs, but also a lot of forgettable ones. Still, a classic in every sense of the word. It also contains Ringo Starr's first songwriting contribution with the cute "Don't Pass Me By".

Favorite Tracks: Back In The USSR, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Blackbird, Piggies, Rocky Raccon, Don't Pass Me By, Birthday, Yer Blues, Mother Nature's Son, Helter Skelter, Revolution 1, Honey Pie

The Beatles-Abbey Road (1969)    Apple Records

1-Come Together (4:20)  2-Something (3:03)  3-Maxwell's Silver Hammer (3:27)  4-Oh! Darling (3:26)  5-Octopus's Garden (2:51)  6-I Want You (She's So Heavy) (7:47)  7-Here Comes The Sun (3:05)  THE MEDLEY: 8-Because (2:45)  9-You Never Give Me Your Money (4:02)  10-Sun King (2:26)  11-Mean Mr. Mustard (1:06)  12-Polythene Pam (1:12)  13-She Came In Through The Bathroom Window (1:57)  14-Golden Slumbers (1:31)  15-Carry That Weight (1:36)  16-The End (2:19)  17-Her Majesty (0:23)

I know everybody loves this album, but it's not one of my favorites. There are some great tracks like the classic "Come Together", the charming "Here Comes The Sun" and one of my all time favorite songs "Octopus's Garden", but I've never cared for most of the rest. Most of the medley really annoys me too. "The End" is cool because it has everybody just jamming. Classic album, but I've never cared for it all that much.

Favorite Tracks: Come Together, Here Comes The Sun, Octopus's Garden, Mean Mr. Mustard, The End

The Beatles-Let It Be (1970)     Apple Records

1-Two Of Us (3:36)  2-Dig A Pony (3:54)  3-Across The Universe (3:48)  4-I Me Mine (2:25)  5-Dig It (0:50)  6-Let It Be (4:03)  7-Maggie Mae (0:40)  8-I've Got A Feeling (3:37)  9-One After 909 (2:55)  10-The Long And Winding Road (3:37)  11-For You Blue (3:32)  12-Get Back (3:07)

PHIL SPECTOR SUCKS!!!!!!!!! Why? He ruined this album! The songs themselves are all very good, but the fucking production makes them near unlistenable! Songs like "Across The Universe" and "The Long And Winding Road" are all excellent in the songwriting department, but fucking Phil sucked all the magic out. Don't worry Beatles, it's not your fault....

Favorite Tracks: Let It Be, Get Back

The Beatles-Let It Be...Naked (2003)    Apple Records

1-Get Back (2:34)  2-Dig A Pony (3:38)  3-For You Blue (2:27)  4-The Long And Winding Road (3:34)  5-Two Of Us (3:21)  6-I've Got A Feeling (3:30)  7-One After 909 (2:44)  8-Don't Let Me Down (3:18)  9-I Me Mine (2:21)  10-Across The Universe (2:38)  11-Let It Be (3:53)

The original version of Let It Be was one of those albums that had great potential but ultimately got killed by the stupid production of convicted killer Phil Spector. This re-release rectifies pretty much all of the problems the original had, with Spector's production being entirely stripped away, creating a much more raw rock n' roll sound.
"Naked" also shows off how GREAT some of those songs on the original were that never got a chance to shine, such as the peaceful "Across The Universe" and the yearning "Long And Winding Road". An excellent mulligan of an album I never liked.
