They combined surf-style guitar riffs, a new wave sheen and the hilarious sprechgesang vocals to create a sound all their own. The whole record is just pure, unadulterated fun, from the nautical tale of "Rock Lobster" and the sci-fi hilarity of "Planet Claire". Just so great and weird. New wave/post punk/alternative rock band who had success in the 70's and 80's. They are the ultimate proof that you can be weird as all hell and still have a good load of hit singles. |
